2014 Asia Series Officially Cancelled...

Well, it's official. The 2014 Asia Series won't be played this year due to scheduling conflicts and other unfortunate reasons.....

  • The commissioner of CPBL resigned this year because of a television broadcast dispute. Sucks to see the league in such a mess after coming back from all those gambling scandals.
  • The NPB will be playing against the MLB all-stars this year, and won't have time to prepare for the Asia Series (not that they took it seriously in a while...)
  • KBO pushed their schedule back because of the Asian Games. Beats serving the military for two years!
Well...the good news is that the committee will meet in early 2015 about next year's Asia Series. They promise to continue the push of international baseball in Asia. I don't know what that really means, but it doesn't include those lower tier countries if you ask me.

I hope the new CBL will be at least somewhat successful enough to get people to follow baseball in China. They are actually recruiting volunteers to help out the league. Anyway, thanks for reading and have a great night! 棒球加油!
