Asian Games Day 4 Results - China Beats Pakistan to Advance

Game 10: Japan 21, Mongolia 0 - 5 Innings Boxscore

As expected, the Japanese came away with the victory by totally embarrassing an under developed team. On the other hand, Mongolia will go home with 2 hits! I don't know how serious the state of baseball is in Mongolia, but it really sucks being completely over-matched in every tournament. I mean, they once conquered the world right? Can conquer baseball too!

Game 11: China 6, Pakistan 0 Boxscore

Pakistan put on a great display of baseball this tournament, but was eliminated today by China. It was a close game until China put up 3 unanswered runs in the bottom of the 7th Inning. The 20 year YANG Haifan dominated today by pitching 6 innings of shutout ball with 8 strikeouts. China will advance to the semi finals to face Korea on Saturday. Just don't lose by 20...

Game 12: Korea 12, Hong Kong 0 - 7 Innings Boxscore

Nothing to see here...another lopsided victory for Korea as they beat Hong Kong to stay undefeated throughout the tournament. Hong Kong, like Mongolia, was completely over matched in the tournament. Maybe Vance Worley of the Pittsburgh Pirates can come train some kids to play baseball when he's done with the postseason. His mom is from Hong Kong!

Here's the final standing for the preliminary round:

Anyway, there's a lot going on in the baseball world, so don't worry about tomorrow's day off. It'll be Derek Jeter's last day as a player in Yankee Stadium today. Be sure to tune in and watch. Thanks for reading and 再見!
